NEW PORT RICHEY — A trail of orange paint dripped across the parking lot and up the stairs to apartment 210.
It was after 1 a.m. Wednesday and a deputy was working on a case of a home that had been vandalized three times in four days — obscene words painted on the entrance, a swastika on the garage door, the vandal’s coffee mug of orange paint and brush left at the scene. The investigation led the deputy to a condo on Amulet Drive.
The deputy knocked on the door. Frank Young Robson Jr., 63, answered. He had dried orange paint on his hands, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. His room was in disarray and also covered in orange paint, a report states.

BROOKSVILLE -- A Ridge Manor man who retaliated against a go-cart driver who hit a chihuahua Saturday wound up with a misdemeanor battery charge, authorities say.
Arthur Wick, 23, was driving "a dune-buggy style go cart" in the Talisman Estates neighborhood shortly after 7 p.m. when a chihuahua owned by Frank Hughes ran in front of him, according to a report from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Wick, who according to the report also goes by "Alf," told deputies he could not avoid hitting the dog because the brakes on the go cart "are not that great," the report said.
The report did give the name or condition of the chihuahua.
Wick said he was going to stop after hitting the dog but he saw a clearly angry Hughes running from his home at 3504 Jodi West Drive.
Wick, who told deputies he feared for his safety, drove to his home at 34961 Talisman St. Hughes, 29, followed and confronted Wick in the front yard. Wick said he didn't want any trouble and when he turned around to go back inside, Hughes hit him on the back of the head, Wick later told deputies.
Hughes admitted to deputies that he hit Wick, the report states.

A 42-year-old man rammed his car into a one-legged man on a bicycle at a gas station Monday night, then got out and pummeled the bicyclist in the face, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The beating took place at 8 p.m. at a RaceTrac station at 7329 State Road 52 in Hudson. Mervin Ginder Jr., who was arrested in the attack, is the brother of the victim’s girlfriend, said sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Doll.
The victim, who is in his 40s, left the scene and then tried to talk with Ginder later — and got punched in the face again, according to a report. The victim’s medical condition was not known Tuesday. Doll said Ginder was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Ginder, who is from Fort McCoy, is charged with aggravated battery and felony battery. He is being held at the Pasco County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

CLEARWATER – Sheriff's deputies say a woman tried to stab to death an elderly neighbor refused to drive her to buy alcohol Wednesday.
Martha Gold, 55, was arrested at 2260 Costa Rica Drive at Top of the World, accused of attempted murder in the first degree, deputies said.
Gold went upstairs to neighbor Genevieve Zebrowski's home because Gold wanted her to drive them to the store to purchase alcohol. While at the doorway, 82-year-old Zebrowski said no, and Gold pulled out a knife and began to stab her and threatened to kill her.
Zebrowski was taken to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
